Dilwale Movie Poster

The most awaited film of the year, Rohit Shetty's Dilwale, is a perfect combination of action, comedy and romance. However, somewhere it has lost on the story line.

Diwale is a story of two brothers, Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) and Veer (Varun Dhawan), who love each other a lot and can do anything for each other but leave the other. Veer falls in love with Ishita (Kriti Sanon), Mira's sister (Kajol). Now who is Mira? She is Raj's love interest from the past. And because of the same past, Mira doesn't agree for Veer and Ishita's marriage. After Veer and Ishita gets to know about false and funny version of Raj and Mira's love story, they decide to bring them together with the motive of settling their own love life too.

First half is nothing but build up for second half. It has action, romance and a bit of comedy. However, second half is heavier on the comedy side and SRK-Kajol's magical chemistry on screen. All most the whole film is predictable, so nothing out of the box.

Direction wise, Diwale is a typical Rohit Shetty film with screeching tyres of high hand cars and too loud punches. Background scores are amazing and perfectly explains the mood of the characters. For the romantic scenes the music is very soothing and as soon as Raj turns to an action hero, music becomes aggressive. The songs are already a hit.

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are, as usual, at their best. Varun is great, specially when he did that SRK's signature spreading hands step, but his character was some what similar to what he played in the film Main Tera Hero. Kriti looks pretty and acted well. Well talking about others, Johny Lever, Boman Irani, Varun Sharma, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Pankaj Tripathi, gave their best. Their performance was impeccable but special mention should be made of Johny Lever and Sanjay Mishra for the perfect comic timing.

What I didn't like:

Few scenes were copied, like Varun breaking a pyramid of wine glasses looks very similar to Ranbeer Kapoor doing so in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani's song Badtameez Dil. BMW and Ferrari's sports car speeding on the roads, like its Dubai and not Goa. Action sequences are over the top loud but then its Rohit Shetty's film.

Watching SRK, Kajol, Varun and Kriti on-screen is a treat, but story could have been better. With Dilwale, Shah Rukh and Kajol are back again to take your Dil away. All in all, a good weekend entertainer but don't forget to leave your brain at home, after all its a weekend and they need a break too.

P.S.: The last dialogue will just make you go awww!!!

After almost five years we are seeing the superb, hot and sizzling chemistry of SRK and Kajol. On top of that throw in Rohit Shetty's tadka and new pairing of Varun and Kriti. Definitely not going to miss this!!!

I dont think the reviewers has bashed SRK-Kajol or Varun-Kriti at all. in fact they are praised. And if story is not new then its now new... why is it so difficult for everyone to accept it. SRK is as usual great in the film, and thts the same reviewer has mentioned. And you can check its not just IF, all most all the website are saying the same thing. I watched it today morning, and seriously the story is super predictable, thought loved watching SRK-Kajol on screen after such a long time.

I don't think anyone cares about "too loud" action scenes when it's SRK-Kajol on screen!!!! they are magical together, always have been!
