Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh faces backlash amidst India-Pakistan tensions. The release of his film, Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, has sparked controversy due to recent events. Amidst calls for a boycott, Diljit Dosanjh has shared a picture with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, seemingly unconcerned by the backlash. This has been fueled by the recent Pahalgam terror attack, causing tensions among netizens.

Facing calls for a nationwide boycott, Diljit Dosanjh shared a picture with Hania Aamir on his Instagram Story, promoting his new music video for Sardarji 3.

While Diljit Dosanjh promotes Sardarji 3, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has urged a complete boycott of the singer-actor. They stated, We hereby announce a complete boycott of singer and producer Diljit Dosanjh from the Indian film industry. We urge all Indian producers, production houses, music companies, event organisers, and film workers to stand united and not associate with Diljit Dosanjh in any professional capacity.

Their statement also mentioned, We will approach various industry unions, workers’ bodies, and stakeholders to uphold this patriotic call. If the film industry and the people of India do not take a stand now, it will send the wrong message globally. National interest must come before personal profit or popularity.

Following FWICE's request to deny certification due to the casting of Pakistani actors, the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 are reportedly foregoing a theatrical release in India. They plan to release the film only in overseas markets to avoid further controversy.

On Sunday, Diljit Dosanjh posted the Sardaar Ji 3 trailer on Instagram, announcing the film's release date. The caption stated, "Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only/ FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN." Check out the post here:

The Sardaar Ji 3 trailer on YouTube is geo-blocked in India, displaying the message, "The uploader has not made this video available in your country." However, the film's teaser and songs remain accessible. Notably, the teaser did not feature Hania Aamir, despite her presence in the trailer.

Sardaar Ji 3 stars Hania Aamir as a ghost hunter, alongside Diljit Dosanjh, who is assigned to exorcise a spirit from a UK mansion. The film blends action and comedy, with romantic elements as Hania and Neeru Bajwa compete for Diljit's affection.

Scheduled for a global release on June 27, Sardaar Ji 3 faced controversy regarding its casting. The Pahalgam terror attack heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, leading to a ban on Pakistani artists in India.
