Did Parineeti Chopra really opt of of Anurag Basu's next?

Well, the actress took to Twitter to clarify things and director Anurag Basu also reveals if it's a sequel to Life in a Metro

After wrapping up the shoot of her next project Jabariya Jodi, Parineeti Chopra is these days chilling with her friends on a beach. Meanwhile, Anurag Basu's upcoming venture, which was reported to be a sequel to Life in a Metro, went on floors. Abhishek Bachchan started it's shoot in Kolkata, which also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur and Rajkummar Rao.

The buzz was that Parineeti opted out of Anurag Basu's project. Many entertainment portals reported that Parineeti was very much interested in the script but due to unavailability of dates, she had to opt out of the project.

Yesterday, Anurag Basu himself took to Twitter to clarify and tweeted, "Opt out!!!?? Hehehe this is so funny When was she In!? @ParineetiChopra"

Parineeti too replied to his tweet and said,"Guys please don't speculate on anything!! I will announce which film I am doing next myself. It is extremely disrespectful and bad PR for the makers of that film. I have not opted out of anything."

Anurag also clarified in an interview with IANS that the movie is nowhere related to 2007 hit Life in a Metro. It just has 4 tracks running along side one another and that is the resemblance which has made people think that it's a sequel. Parineeti Chopra's last Namaste England failed to stir any interest in the audience and didn't do much on the box office. Her next Jabariya Jodi stars Siddharth Malhotra and is due for release in 2019.
