Dhanush feels Sonam Kapoor was a better co-star compared to Sara Ali Khan

In a recent interview with Karan Johar, Dhanush was asked who he thought was a better actor to work with, with Sara Ali Khan and Sonam Kapoor as his options. Sonam was chosen without hesitation by the actor. 

The actors had worked together on Dhanush's Bollywood debut film Raanjhanaa. Directed by Aanand L Rai, Raanjhanaa released in 2013 and was one of the biggest hits of that year.

Dhanush was asked to choose between the two actors in a rapid fire round on Koffee Shots With Karan as part of the promotion for his upcoming film Atrangi Re. When Dhanush chose Sonam, Sara said, "Wow, not offensive at all. I'm losing my hamper, I am losing my...”

Dhanush went on to say that Sonam will always be special to him because she was his first Bollywood co-star. "Not taking away the kindness, sweetness, fun (that) Sara (brought) on the sets of Atrangi Re, Sonam because she was very special, she was my first co-star in Hindi films and a guy from the south coming here, and she made me feel very comfortable and very kind to me. I am very grateful for that,” he said. he said. 

During the episode, Dhanush also admitted that he was 'concerned' about Sara's ability to play Rinku in Atrangi Re. "To be honest, I was a little concerned. It's a huge role with a difficult character to play. 'How many films has she done?' I inquired of Aanand ji. He told me he was working on two or three films at the time. "I was thinking, 'Can she pull it off?'" he confessed. Dhanush, on the other hand, had been reassured by director Aanand L Rai. 

Akshay Kumar also appears in Atrangi Re. The film will be streamed directly on Disney+ Hotstar rather than in theatres.
