Dhanashree Verma speaks out about trolling post divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal: 'Have built myself so strong…'

Choreographer and content creator Dhanashree Verma became known when she married Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal in 2020. They met during the COVID-19 lockdown; Chahal contacted her for dance classes, and they fell in love. However, in early 2025, they got divorced. The divorce caused a lot of online discussion, and Dhanashree was heavily criticized online.

Now months post divorce, Dhanashree has addressed the criticism and public interest she's faced since her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. She shared that she doesn't let public judgment or negativity bother her. She's made a point of "guarding herself," which means she's putting all her energy into her work. She also stated that she prefers to ignore the opinions of others that aren't asked for.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Dhanashree said, "It doesn’t bother me at all! I have surrounded myself with great inner strength, and I am so dedicated that my focus has always been on my work, as I have a lot of responsibilities. I have guarded myself and have built myself so strong that I just focus on my work, which will speak for everything. The negativity and public criticism have never really bothered me since day 1, and it will never bother me ever."

She said that she is instead focusing on her goals. “I prefer to ignore the noise that doesn’t contribute to my growth and focus on constructive feedback. I set goals for myself and stay committed to them till I achieve them. When you know your goals, professionally and personally, it is easier to stay away from the distractions," she explained.

Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal got divorced on March 20 by the Bandra family court, right before Chahal's IPL 2025 commitment on March 22. Because of his work, they skipped the usual six-month waiting period. Yuzvendra Chahal will pay Dhanashree Verma Rs 4.75 crore as alimony.

Dhanashree recently appeared in the song 'Ting Ling Sajna' from the movie Bhool Chuk Maaf, with Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. She was praised for her dance moves. The film came out on May 23, 2025.
