Deepika Padukone’s Manager dodges NCB interrogation citing 'ill-health'; Reports suspect her to be in Goa with Deepika

The drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death investigation has seen explosive revelations as names of many A-listers like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, and Madhu Mantena have cropped up. Rhea Chakraborty’s talent manager Jaya Saha reportedly admitted supplying contraband substances to celebrities. 

On Tuesday, hours after the explosive developments in the drug probe, Deepika’s manager Karishma Prakash was to be summoned for interrogation. Several reports also mentioned that Deepika might also be called in for questioning. However, according to previous ANI reports, Deepika’s manager has sought exemption from the investigation till September 25 on the grounds of ill health.

Now, the latest PTI report suggested that Karishma has been exempted from questioning till Friday. This update comes in a day after an NCB source said in a statement “She has been exempted from appearance before the central agency till Friday.”

In his statement to PTI, the official added, "The NCB will first question Karishma Prakash and might summon actor Deepika Padukone if needed."

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has managed to establish a link between celebrities and Kwan - Talent Management agency. The company’s CEO was also interrogated by the NCB in the drug probe.

According to several media reports, Karishma is suspected to be in Goa with Deepika where the actress is currently shooting for director Shakun Batra’s untitled film. 

For the uninformed, the project reportedly stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday in lead roles and is being produced by Karan Johar. 

Earlier, Karan Johar was spotted leaving for Goa with his family. Meanwhile, the star-cast, director, and producer were spotted heading to the neighboring state last week, well in time before they could kick off the shoot.
