Deepika Padukone to Join NCB Probe: Mumbai Police deploys additional security for her visit at NCB guesthouse!

The entire nation was shocked after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) issued summons to Deepika Padukone for questioning in connection to the drug case. 

While the drug investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case has seen explosive and unprecedented developments recently, reports suggest that Deepika is expected to appear before the NCB on September 25 and she is currently en route to Mumbai. According to Times Now, the Mumbai Police has been asked to deploy additional security ahead of her visit.

For the unknown, until yesterday Deepika Padukone was shooting for director Shakun Batra’s untitled film in Goa. However, the team has reportedly halted the shoot and the actress is likely to return to Mumbai today. 

The project reportedly stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday in lead roles and is being produced by Karan Johar.

Earlier, Karan Johar was spotted leaving for Goa with his family. Meanwhile, the star-cast, director, and producer were spotted heading to the neighboring state last week, well in time before they could kick off the shoot.

For the unversed, Deepika’s name cropped up after several drug chats were procured which purportedly revealed the initials of five celebrities, namely – K, D, S, N, and J. While the Times Now report stated that ‘D’ has been allegedly identified as Deepika Padukone chats indicated the actress allegedly chatting about ‘Maal’ with 'K' - who is suspected to be her manager Karishma Prakash.

Amid this, Deepika's manager also was issued summons along with the actress by the Narcotics Control Bureau after chats from 2017 between the two came to surface while interrogating Jaya Saha.

Furthermore, apart from Deepika, the NCB has also issued summons to Sara Ali Khan, and Shraddha Kapoor, and they are expected to appear before the agency officers on September 26.
