Deepika Padukone has never shied away from supporting what she believes in. Her ideology might have earned her haters occasionally but the actress surely has an opinion. Deepika Padukone who is one of the biggest mental health crusaders from Bollywood has called out the CMD of Larsen & Toubro on her Instagram stories. She wrote that it was shocking to hear how little people in high positions cared for the well-being of employees. She said mental health of corporate India was a cause of concern. The statement of S.N Subrahmanyan is doing the rounds on Reddit and journalist Faye D’Souza shared the same on her Instagram.

Of late, there is a lot of talk on the corporate culture of urban India. Many nations in the world have moved to the five-day working week model, while Asian nations have longer working hours. A couple of months back, Narayana Murthy spoke about how a 70-hour work week would be more productive for the nation. He was also called by netizens who said freshers in his company were hardly paid enough to work for that duration. Others trolled him saying that he was the owner and reaped the maximum wealth benefits while all an employee took home was a salary package. Psychologists have also highlighted how stress is affecting families in modern India, especially those in metro cities.
In the viral video, SN Subrahmanyan says, “I regret I am not able to make you work on Sundays. If I can make you work on Sundays, I will be more happy... What do you do sitting at home? How long can you stare at your wife?"…People are quite upset with it. Netizens joked that employees of L&T and Infosys should inter-marry and the only time they’ll see each other is after retirement, No tension, only pension’. These were some of the sentiments on social media. Even Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola said that even he believed in what Narayana Murthy said. When he said that holidays on Saturdays and Sundays is a western concept with no relevance in India, he was called out by doctors who warned of health consequences.
