The first season of Dance India Dance produced by UTV on Zee TV was a great success. As the auditions for the Second Season of the unique dance reality show reaches its climax, we bring you some inside facts.
According to our source, "The Second Season of Dance India Dance will be produced by The Right Picture, and will be funded by Sandeep Shukla of Leo One Productions India Ltd. Leo One has earlier produced a movie Kuch Namak Zyada and have a reality show, Arre Waah Shabaash running on Zee Marathi. They have also produced a Marathi movie Ananda Ki Dohi. The Right Picture has a partner in ace cricketer Harbhajan Singh who will be part of the production house".
When contacted, Sandeep Shukla of Leo One confirmed the news and said, "Yes, We are financing for this season's Dance India Dance. The auditions have got a great response, something bigger than last year. We are looking forward to being part of the show".
Winay Mahajan of The Right Picture was unavailable for comment.
The Second Season of Dance India Dance wil hit the television screens on December 18th.
However, there has been a setback to the show with the choreographers cum mentors Remo Fernandez and Geeta Kapoor suffering major injuries in a recent scooter accident that happened.
According to our source, "Remo has multiple fractures in his foot, and has been advised to be out of action for nearly six weeks. Geeta who suffers major back injuries has been advised bed rest by doctors for four weeks. However, the mentors are so eager to kick-off the second season and take it to the pinnacle of success, that they have not backed out of the show, and have assured the channel and production house that they will train their contestants and get them going. In addition to this, the third mentor of the show Terrance Lewis is also ill, and is hospitalized as he is suffering from typhoid and malaria".
We hope Geeta and Remo, along with Terrance fight their persnal health battles and emerge victorious to give viewers yet another scintillating season of Dance India Dance..
