Chit Chat with Saba Mumtaz.

Saba Mumtaz started her journey in the industry as a director. She later started writing and after all the hardwork, she is now a producer! We spoke to Saba about her upcoming show Meri Sasuma and a few things here and there. Check it out!

From a Director to a Writer and now a producer. How has the journey been?

The journey was wonderful! I am a creative person and I have had the opportunity of exploring all the creative sides of the industry, that is directing a show, writing a show and now producing shows!

How is Meri Sasuma different from all the other Saas-Bahu dramas?

Meri Sasuma is totally different! It's like Tom And Jerry! It is a full package with comedy, action and drama! Even the serious elements of the show are somewhat funny!

How did you get the Idea for this Show?

I have a big family. I have a lot of sisters and the common enemy between them is the mother in law! They all have some or the other complaints about their mother in law and then they look at me! I have a very good relationship with my mother in law. I then thought about the cindrella like concept in which the girl doesn't have a mother and so instead of seeking for her prince charming, she is looking for a mother in her Sasuma!

With the current trends in the industry going towards a supernatural twist, if required will your show take such a turn?

Definitely not! We don't need all the supernatural elements! They will degrade our show! We have a lot of interesting characters, who are very innocent and don't need superficial powers!

With a lot of developments in the internet and a lot of producers looking up for creating Web content, have you thought of creating Web content?

Absolutely! I am working on a show, its a new concept. It will be a youth based show as most of the web content viewers are teenagers and young adults.
