Charu Asopa asks women to become financially independent as she becomes a 'home owner', says, 'Shaadi ek buri'

Charu Asopa, a popular name in the world of Indian television, has taken a step back from her acting career to prioritize her daughter, Ziana. The actress, who was previously married to Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen's brother, Rajeev Sen, has relocated from Mumbai to Bikaner, Rajasthan, to focus on her daughter's upbringing. This decision marks a significant change for Asopa, who has dedicated her time to the demanding world of daily soaps for years.

She is now celebrating a significant milestone: the completion of the registry for her new home in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Asopa, who recently relocated to Bikaner with her daughter Ziana, shared her excitement in a vlog, describing the purchase as a "dream come true."

In the vlog, Asopa also took the opportunity to address her followers, encouraging women to prioritize financial independence and career development. She stated that these aspects can provide crucial stability during challenging times, advocating that marriage should not be the ultimate goal for women.

Asopa's vlog showcased her and Ziana's visit to a temple to offer gratitude and seek blessings following the home registry. She revealed that the purchase was financed through a loan, expressing relief at no longer having to pay monthly rent. Asopa emphasized that the money previously spent on rent will now be allocated towards her EMI, and she is "not answerable to anyone" regarding her home decor.

She emphasized that matrimony isn't inherently unfavorable, but women should prioritize their fiscal autonomy first. “Shaadi is a part of your life, shaadi ek buri cheez nahi hai. But ek ladki ka independent hona wo ek ultimate goal hona chahiye. Kyunki life mein kabhi bhi koi bhi problem aa sakti hai. Jo ek ladki ko sabse zyada help karta hai wo hota hai uska career, financial independence. (Marriage is a part of life. It’s not a bad thing. But for a girl, being independent should be the ultimate goal. Because in life, problems can come anytime. And the thing that helps a girl the most is her career, her financial independence)," said Charu.

Charu Asopa, known for her roles in television shows, recently addressed allegations made by her former husband, Rajeev Sen. Sen had claimed that Asopa was communicating with his close friend of two decades behind his back. Asopa, without directly naming Sen, refuted the accusation and challenged him to publicly identify the friend in question.

Asopa and Sen, brother of actress Sushmita Sen, were married in 2019. Their daughter, Ziana, was born in 2021. The couple finalized their divorce in 2023.
