Chandu Champion released on June 14, 2024 four years later after the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. Kartik Aaryan is getting rave reviews for his performance in the Kabir Khan film. It is based on the life of Army man and Paralympian Murlikant Petkar. The Army veteran and sports champion told a newspaper that Sushant Singh Rajput had already shot 10 to 15 per cent of the biopic. He said SSR was passionate about telling his story and spent a lot of time with him. It seems the late actor spent hours with Petkar to understand how he emerged as a gold medal winning champ despite his injuries and history of coma.

He was extremely passionate about telling my story and spent a lot of time with me to understand how I managed to win all those gold medals despite getting shot nine times and being in a coma.”

It seems he had shot for the biopic in 2019 and later worked stopped due to some reasons. The lockdown happened in 2020 and he passed away in June. The actor’s health worsened after a trip to Europe in 2019 with his then girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty. Later, Kabir Khan found out about Murlikant Petkar from a news article and decided to make Chandu Champion.
