Chandni Sharma CONFIRMS quitting Jhanak after the 20 year leap: 'Until we play..'

The alleys of telly town have been abuzz with the reports of Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja's Jhanak heading for a 20 year leap. India Forums, exclusively reporting about the same had also reported about the current cast of the show calling it quits.

Well, to confirm the news, we reached out to Chandni Sharma, who essays the character of Arshi, the negative lead of Jhanak. Speaking to us exclusively about the same, the actress confirming our reports revealed that she is indeed quitting the show. ''Yes, the reports are true. The show is heading for a 20 year leap and I will be quitting too,'' says Chandni.

Further speaking about the same, the actress says, ''The show is heading for a generation leap, which means, until we play the characters of our kids, we will not be doing the show.''

Well, India Forums has been at the forefront on bringing exclusive scoop from the sets of the show. Earlier, we had exclusively reported about Shiny Doshi being approached to essay the new lead of the show, replacing Hiba. The Pandya Store fame had also confirmed the same with us and had stated that she does not want to do a show that is heading for a leap. ''I am not taking it up and I have refused because I do not want to be a part of a show which is heading for a leap and then a new story is launched. I rather wait for something fresh to come my way,'' Shiny said in an exclusive chat with us.

For those who do not know, Jhanak sees Hiba Nawab, Krushal Ahuja and Chandni Sharma in the titular roles. The show started off pretty well initially but has been registering disappointingly low TRPs for the past many months. Given its regressive story line and a lack of anything fresh in the story, reports also suggested that the show has been under the scanner for a while. Earlier, both Hiba and Krushal were also set to be replaced from the show, however, owing to the ongoing IPL season, the leap was postponed and both the actors were eventually retained.
