Mumbai, Nov 4 (IANS) Even as Anupam Kher shoots his 359th film, 'The Other End Of The Line' , with producer Ashok Amritraj, an international TV crew has been following him around capturing his life in detail.
The Canadian crew has been seen shooting the actor not only at his shoots but also at various other places such as his acting school and the charitable institutions that he works for.
Explains Anupam: 'This is a documentary that the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is making on my life and craft. I've been shot on a camera as an actor. But to be trailed by a camera as I live my life in real is a disturbing experience.
'Do I get self-conscious on live camera? At first I did. But now I try to forget about the camera's presence and behave as I would if it wasn't around.'
The crew for the Anupam documentary has so far shot the actor working for Ekta Kapoor's 'C Company' and for Ashok Amritraj's 'The Other End Of The Line'.
'They are two very different films. One is a spoof on gangster films. The other is a trans-Atlantic cross-cultural love story. I play heroine Sriya Saran's father.
'The important part of this documentary is that it attempts to see me in different lights. I feel our industry doesn't realise the importance of documentation and archival recording. We keep working without a care about posterity. Where are the books and films on Dilip Kumar who's unarguably our finest actor?'
