Actress Prisha Dhatwalia, who is seen playing the lead role in the show Meri Bhavya Life, says that she has been receiving some great reviews for her performance in the show. The actress adds that people are really relating to Bhavya.

“It’s beyond what I expected. People are texting me about how they’ve fallen in love with Bhavya and how they relate to her daily life crises and responses. It’s a very relatable character for them, and it comes across as very natural on the screen—something which stands out from other TV characters. I can share the screenshots as well,” she says.

In fact, she is also relating well to her role. “It has made me more emotionally sound as a person. It has given me the courage to face difficulties with an open heart. It has made me more brave, patient, and resilient,” she says, adding, “Loads of fierceness, emotions, vulnerability, and her humour are what the audience can expect from the show.”

Talking about the subject of body shaming touched upon in the show, she says, “The fact that so many people already hate Rishank for bullying Bhavya means that this story has provided a mirror to all the bullies. Now they can see themselves in him as a third person. I am sure they’re regretting it. It has crafted a conversation around bulky bodies that are equally worthy of love.”

She adds, “Being a woman, everyone expects you to always look beautiful. Her skills and the talents she possesses are often overlooked. People expect women to just nurture and stay at home, have good family relations. However, for men, they have a role of a provider, which is why even if they’re healthy or not of a good demeanour, nobody cares. They are just seen as an earning package, which is equally toxic for them too.”
