Bygone Summers and the Ongoing Monsoons!

The gorgeous Ragini Khanna reveals her love for monsoon during a special chat with Tellybuzz.

Ragini Khanna
Mumbai has just witnessed its first heavy showers of this monsoon and so needless  to say that the mundane weather and the nature is illuminated once again  with pure drops of  rains. The garama garam pakodas, masale daar chai and makkai ke butte are relished again. Oh! Yes!! How can we forget the damp aroma of the wet mud? It just adds that perfect gist to the monsoon zest.

We spoke to one of the most chulbuli, notorious and modern ladki Ragini Khanna famous for her role as Suhana in Sasural Genda Phool. She was last seen as the co-host of India's Best Dramebaaz and this is what she had to say about monsoon…

Monsoon for me means -

For me, monsoon means romance and discomfort. Discomfort because it causes a lot of problems in travelling, water logging and wet clothes.

First thought about monsoon -

Um… my first thought would be – Hah! No summers!

Most memorable moment when it comes to rains -

Going out with friends and having Gupta's special Pani-Puri and Mithibai's famous Dheeraj Vada Pav. Having ice creams when totally drenched in rains is something I love doing with my friends.

Monsoon is not necessarily a "lover's paradise" –

I don't completely agree when they say that monsoon is a lover's paradise! If you are in love you feel good and loved even in winters and summers. Love doesn't have any season. Loving in monsoon is too filmi! It's like the monsoon is unnecessarily romanticized.

I can never enjoy monsoons when it is raining –

My experience while shooting during monsoon has never been good. The generators always go for a toss. And the worst part is that I hardly come to know that it's raining and never can I enjoy them because of my busy schedules.

Monsoon and Childhood -

As a child, I don't have any good memories of monsoon. In fact I just remember one incident that too a bad one. I had missed my bus when I was in Jr. Kg, and was stranded all alone in school. Thankfully, I had a raincoat with me and some sense of maturity that made me realize that my Nani's house was just two minutes away from my school. I had to walk all the way to my Nani's place on a road which had water upto my knees.

My monsoon mantra this season -

Gumboots, shorts, loose T-shirts. Actually wearing whatever that is comfortable.

My favourite food during monsoons -

I love having malpuas, vada pav, pakodaas with chai. This is something which has become a compulsion now. Every monsoon I have to have these come what may.

Favourite Monsoon Music -

I love listening to music while I am travelling with my car windows open and drops of rains falling on me. I usually prefer listening to romantic songs.

My Monsoon fantasy -

I want to be with someone whom I love. Ride a cycle with him, totally drenched in rains with absolutely no traffic on the road. And yes, it has to be riding cycles separately and not on double seat. I find it too cheesy and shady!
