BTS fans in India are a very passionate lot. Though the band has never toured India, the nation is first when it comes to streaming the band’s songs or solo albums of the members. There is buzz that they might do a concert next year in India after the release of their album in spring. The boys are now in the US for two months working on the same. We will reportedly also get solo tours of Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung in the coming months. While BTS might have never come to India, traders and vendors know their craze amongst teens. We have all sorts of unofficial merchandise in India which range from notebooks with their faces on the cover, keychains, soft toys and handbags with BT21 characters.

A fan spotted Rakhis with small RJs done on them in the old city of Hyderabad. It looks like they would cost Rs 10-15 something every kid can afford. This is proof of the impact of the K-Pop band on businesses. RJ is the BT21 character created by Jin, the eldest hyung of BTS. It is an alpaca. In the past we have seen English coaching centres in small town using the face of Jungkook to advertise their establishment.

Fans said that this was enough proof about the popularity of the band in India. Female fans said they would not mind buying these and wearing them as bracelets. Some wanted to buy it for their younger brothers. In the past, we have even seen menswear tailors using pics of Kim Taehyung in formal attire outside their stores.

The BTS members mentioned that they had Mumbai on their mind when they were short-listing cities for the Map Of The Soul world tour before the pandemic. BTS' maknae Jungkook even sang RRR song Naatu Naatu on his VLive. The clip was a rage in India. The official handle of the film even thanked him for the same.
