The Indian box office continues to stay active with a trio of major releases pulling in steady figures. From global action thrillers to horror franchise reboots and homegrown sequels, audiences are showing up, even as weekday numbers dip slightly.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has crossed the Rs 49 crore mark in India within its first five days. After a robust launch, the film recorded around Rs 4.75 crore on its fifth day, a marginal drop from earlier daily figures. Despite the weekday slide, the film remains a key performer. Meanwhile, in a surprise strategic move, the film’s U.S. release has been advanced by six days to May 23, adding momentum to the franchise’s global campaign.
In parallel, Final Destination Bloodlines, which opened on May 15, has wrapped up its first week with a total of approximately Rs 30.30 crore across India. The film started with Rs 4.5 crore on its opening day and gained pace through the weekend. Sunday emerged as its strongest day with Rs 6.6 crore. Weekday earnings saw a decline, but the film still managed to stay above the Rs 2 crore mark each day. This marks a healthy performance for the horror title, which continues to draw genre fans despite mid-week slowdowns.
On the domestic front, Raid 2 has shown long-term box office resilience. The Ajay Devgn-starrer, now into its third week, added Rs 1.40 crore on Day 21. With this, its cumulative earnings have reached Rs 150 crore. Although the film is unlikely to reach the Rs 200 crore benchmark, projections suggest a potential finish around Rs 175 crore. That would still place it among the most successful Hindi films of the year so far.
The coming weekend could bring new shifts in screen counts and audience attention, especially with more releases on the horizon. For now, the three films continue to coexist, each targeting different viewer segments and capitalising on their respective fan bases.
