Ajay Devgn's 'Raid 2' continues steady run crossing 125 crores - but the Heat is ON this week

Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh's film Raid 2 has proven its staying power at the box office, maintaining a steady performance despite facing competition from larger releases. On its second Monday, May 12th, Raid 2 brought in Rs 5 crore, maintaining momentum after a strong second Sunday. The film had an impressive ?95.75 crore in its first week and is now set to become one of the biggest hits in Ajay Devgn's career. Notably, Raid 2 has surpassed the lifetime earnings of his previous blockbusters Golmaal 3 and Son of Sardaar, ranking as his eighth highest-grossing film to date.

The movie’s success is credited to its strong storyline and Devgn’s portrayal of the relentless IRS officer, Amay Patnaik, a character that resonates with audiences due to its commitment to fighting corruption. While the film's performance has been robust, it is now looking at competition from Hollywood’s Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, set to release on May 17. Looking ahead, Raid 2 may face little competition until Housefull 5 arrives in June 2025.
