Hollywood actress Blake Lively has issued a strong response after her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni’s lawyers released a nearly 10-minute video from the film's set. The video was shared to counter Lively’s claims of inappropriate behavior by Baldoni during a romantic scene. However, Lively’s legal team claims the footage only reinforces her allegations.
The video, according to Lively’s lawyers, shows Baldoni engaging in behavior that was not pre-discussed or consented to. It captures moments where Baldoni is seen leaning toward Lively, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face against her neck, flicking her lip, and complimenting her scent—all actions reportedly improvised by Baldoni. The footage, they argued, highlights Lively’s discomfort as she leans away and attempts to deflect the contact by suggesting the characters focus on dialogue instead.
Lively’s team emphasized that the video corroborates her earlier claims outlined in her lawsuit. They criticized the lack of an intimacy coordinator during these scenes and condemned the release of the video to the media instead of presenting it as evidence in court. According to them, this move was an unethical attempt to manipulate public opinion and further harass Lively.
"No woman should have to fend off unwanted physical contact from their employer,” the statement read. Blake’s attempts at humor to diffuse the situation and avoid confrontation will resonate with anyone who has been uncomfortable or inappropriately touched in the workplace, it highlighted.
This controversy adds another layer to the ongoing legal battle between the two actors. Weeks ago, Lively filed a lawsuit alleging harassment and retaliation on the film's set. Baldoni responded with his own legal action, suing Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion. The escalating feud has sparked widespread debates in Hollywood about the treatment of women on film sets and the importance of creating safe working environments.
As both sides prepare for court, the legal and public battle continues to make headlines.
