Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgn made their Bollywood debut in Abhishek Kapoor's 'Azaad.' Both Rasha and Aaman play lead roles, with Ajay Devgn also featuring prominently in the film. Aaman is Ajay's nephew, while Rasha is the daughter of Raveena Tandon. Although Rasha gained significant popularity even before her film's release, especially with the hit song 'Uyi Amma,' this buzz hasn't translated into strong box office numbers for the film. Following a disappointing start, the film experienced a significant decline in its box office collections on day four.
'Azaad' managed to earn only Rs 1.5 crore at the box office on its opening Friday. The numbers didn't see much improvement over Saturday and Sunday either. By the end of its first weekend, the film had grossed just Rs 4.65 crore over three days, which is quite low. On its first Monday, it collected Rs 53 lakhs, bringing the total earnings to Rs 5.08 crore after four days, as reported by Sanilk.
The film was released alongside Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency,' which is performing significantly better. 'Emergency' opened with Rs 2.5 crore on Friday and saw a substantial increase of about 44 percent on Saturday, bringing in Rs 3.6 crore.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor, 'Azaad' stars Rasha as Janaki and Aaman as Govind. Ajay Devgn plays the role of Vikram, while Diana Penty portrays Kesar. Mohit Malik takes on the character of Tej. After its theatrical run concludes, 'Azaad' will be available for streaming on Netflix, although the exact OTT release date has yet to be announced.
