Ayushmann Khurrana on playing a cop in Anek: Had to work on physical and mental skills

Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the actors who has been winning over the hearts of audiences with his unconventional stories and palpable way of acting. The Vicky Donor actor recently completed a decade in the industry.

Interestingly, Ayushmann is currently dominating the news for his upcoming film Anek, directed by Anubhav Sinha. Recently, the Bala star opened up about his character in Anek, revealing that he will serve as an undercover cop in the film. When asked about his persona, Ayushmann stated that this is his first time playing such a part on screen and that he is very thrilled to play Joshua in Anek.

"Joshua in Anek is a street smart and perceptive young man. He knows his route around individuals and can combat evil ones not only physically but also intellectually," he said. Ayushmann also stated that Joshua forced him to do tasks he had never done before. Furthermore, the Shubh Mangal Zyda Savdhan actor discussed his prep for the role of Joshua, stating that he had to work extremely hard on both his bodily and mental abilities.

The character's path keeps one enthralled and captivated throughout, from his detective skills to his aptitude to counteract the opponent," Ayushmann was quoted as saying. He added, 

 "The action sequences had to look real and raw to fit into the world of Anek and to portray what Anubhav had envisioned, so I was inscribed with the right amount of guidance and training."

Meanwhile, Anubhav can't stop praising Ayushmann for his ability to inhabit the role of Joshua, saying that no one could have done it better. Anek, for those who are unfamiliar, is a political action thriller set in North East India. The film is set to be released on May 27, 2022.
