Artist of the Month - Husein Kuwajerwala

A stunning combination of talent, creativity & versatility, is what truly makes up the Artist of the Month in Telly Buzz. The month of October will witness one such artist whose versatility and talent goes beyond all expectations. Based on the votes received, and on the appreciation that the actor has got for keeping his fans entertained, Telly Buzz would like to announce that Husein Kuwajerwala will be the first Artist of the Month!

Husein’s consistent brilliant performance in Star Plus’ Kumkum – Ek Pyaara Sa Bandhan for the past six years, tags him as a class actor. Prior to Kumkum, Husein’s first big break was in Balaji’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi, where he got the much needed recognition for his talent. Shows like Krishna Arjun, where he played the fumbling, yet suave & charming detective, proved his versatility. But his biggest success story, till date, is his role of 'Sumit Wadhwa' in the the afternoon daily, Kumkum-Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan.. His portrayal of the perfect brother, son & husband has won him accolades and awards!

Apart from acting, Hussein has also proved himself as an excellent anchor. With shows like Kisme Kitna Hai Dum, a celebrity boys v/s girls fun show, and talent shows like Kucch Kar Dikhana Hai, Kalakaarz, and a fun-filled game show KhulJaa SimSim, he went from strength to strength. His most successful stint as a host came with Zee’s Shabaash India, a reality show about real life heroes from remote corners of India, for which he recently won an award. There was no looking back for this bundle of talent from then. He has now become the ‘Apple-Pie’ of all leading channels; he is the anchor who is much sought after! Sony roped him in for the recently concluded Indian Idol, where Husein along with Mini Mathur brought in the required energy & enthusiasm.

Nach Baliye 2 (2006), the celebrity couples' dance competition, saw him on the other side of the fence, that of a participant. Husein along with wife Tina, with their chemistry and moves, danced their way into the hearts of the audience and went on to win the competition! After this successful stint as a dancer, Husein is now back again, to Star and Nach Baliye, but this time, as an anchor with his wife Tina.

Born on the 12th of October 1977, Husein was a quiet child, an introvert by nature and always kept to himself. Husein joined Jai Hind College in South Bombay, and life took a U-turn. A once quiet child, Husein openly took part in extracurricular activities like drama and dancing. Husein considers his years in college as some of the best years of his life. It was in college that Husein got to model in commercials and subsequently, his first TV role as an actor. Post 9 years of courtship, with his girl friend Tina, the love birds, who fell in love while in college, finally tied the knot on 21st December 2005 (incidentally, the same day they declared their love for each other!). A simple court marriage it was, followed by a lavish reception attended by the who's who of the television industry and several Mumbai socialites, all there to bless the newly weds and wish them a happy and prosperous life together.

Considering all these various accomplishments in the field of entertainment, the Telly Buzz team at India Forums is really honored to credit the Artist of the Month Award to Husein.
