Last year, Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti claimed that he will direct the Hindi adaptation of Ayyappanum Koshiyum, a 2020 Malayalam action film starring John Abraham as Biju Menon and Arjun Kapoor as Prithviraj Sukumaran. Indeed, Ayyappanum Koshiyum was recently recreated in Telugu, starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati.
As per Pinkvilla reports, the film has been put on hold for the time being.
John is presently concentrating on Siddharth Anand's Pathaan, which has just begun filming and has taken a break for the film's foreign tour.
"After Pathaan, he has a few more commitments, as well as a busy 2022," a source close to the development says. "Arjun is also preoccupied with prior commitments, and director Jagan Shakti has moved on to another project," another source close to the development says. "Due to scheduling constraints, the Hindi remake has been placed on hold for the time being," the informant told the portal.
In the meantime, John is working on Lakshya Raj, Anand's Attack, and Mohit Suri's Ek Villain Returns, in addition to Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's Pathaan. He recently announced Tehran on his Twitter account.
Arjun, on the other hand, is now collaborating with John on Ek Villain Returns, Ajay Bahl on The Ladykiller, and Aasmaan Bhardwaj on Kuttey.
