Arjit Taneja to lead 'Jhanak' despite reports of denying it?

Arjit Taneja, last seen in Zee TV's Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye was reported to be approached to essay the new male lead of Jhanak, replacing Krushal Ahuja. However, the actor took to his X handle to deny these reports and stated that he is not doing any show as of now.

Taking to his X handle a while ago, Arjit wrote, ''Guysss not doing any new show as of now. Don’t know where are all the articles coming from. Much Love.'' Have a look at Arjit's tweet below:

Well, our sources close to the production house now reveal to us that the actor is very much a part of the show and that he may shoot for the promo soon too. ''The channel was keen on having Shakti Arora on board, however, the budget did not work out. Arjit has now been roped in to essay the new lead. They were both in contention,'' the source confirms.

According to a report in the Downtown Mirror, Twinkle Arora will be essaying the new female lead of the show, thus replacing Hiba Nawab as the titular face.

Apart from these two names, several other names like Shiny Doshi, Erica Fernandes and others were reported to be approached for the show. Shiny, in an exclusive chat with India Forums also confirmed the same and stated that she has rejected the offer because she wants to take up something fresh and not a show that is heading for leap.

For those who do not know, Jhanak currently sees Hiba Nawab, Krushal Ahuja and Chandni Sharma in the titular roles. The show started off pretty well initially but has been registering disappointingly low TRPs for the past many months. Given its regressive story line and a lack of anything fresh in the story, reports also suggested that the show has been under the scanner for a while. Earlier, both Hiba and Krushal were also set to be replaced from the show, however, owing to the ongoing IPL season, the leap was postponed and both the actors were eventually retained.

An official confirmation on Arjit's stint in the show is still awaited. We tried getting in touch with the actor to confirm the same, however, he remained unavailable for any comments.
