Actor Arjit Taneja has dismissed recent speculation linking him to the Star Plus drama Jhanak, which is reportedly preparing for a 20-year leap. Addressing the circulating rumours, Taneja posted a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account, writing: "Guysss not doing any new show as of now. Don’t know where are all the articles coming from. Much love."

However, Taneja’s statement puts those reports to rest for now, confirming that he is not involved with the show or any new project at this point.
Jhanak, which began airing in November 2023, is a Hindi television drama created by Magic Moments Motion Pictures. The story initially followed the character of Jhanak, played by Hiba Nawab, and her complex journey after escaping a forced marriage, eventually leading to her life in Kolkata. Krushal Ahuja plays Aniruddha, a central character who becomes entangled in Jhanak’s life. Over time, the show has gone through various twists, including a five-year leap that was recently introduced. The production team has now confirmed plans for a more substantial 20-year time jump, which will reset the storyline and bring in a new generation of characters. Most of the current cast is expected to exit, making room for fresh faces in lead roles. The show has been one of the most trolled shows on the channel and the viewers hope that this revamp brings a 'non regressive' concept for the viewers.
In this context, Arjit Taneja’s name surfaced in reports as a likely candidate for one of the new leads. However, with his recent denial, it’s clear he will not be part of the show's upcoming chapter. The makers are still finalizing the new cast ahead of the leap, which is expected to go on air in June 2025. India Forums had earlier exclusively reported about Hiba, Krushal and Chandni calling it quits post the 20 year leap. We have also reported about Erica Fernandes being approached to replace Hiba Nawab on the show.
For now, Arjit remains unattached to any upcoming series, and his fans will have to wait for official news on his next screen appearance.
