AR Rahman to appear on The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show
The upcoming episode of "The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show" will feature A.R. Rahman alongside the cast of "Silent Film, Gandhi Talks," including Aditi Rao Hydari, Vijay Sethupathi, and Siddharth Jadhav. A promotional video humorously highlights Rahman's concise responses. The caption on the video reads, "This Funnywaar talks less." The video begins with Kapil humorously requesting Rahman to promise to give extended answers, even to simple questions. Kapil says, "Promise me that for one-line questions I ask, you'll answer in one line. Because when you ask Rahman sahab a four-line question, he replies with one word... Yeah, no, very good," which causes laughter.
Kapil then engaged with the other guests, notably asking Aditi Rao Hydari about her marriage. The promo is captioned, "We went from shh-shh-shh to ha-ha-ha real quick. Watch the cast of Gandhi Talks on The Great Indian Kapil Show, streaming on 31st January, at 8 PM, only on Netflix."

A.R. Rahman has been criticized for comments made during an interview with the BBC Asian Network. The award-winning composer stated that individuals lacking creativity now wield significant influence. He also suggested it "might be a communal thing," sparking considerable debate among social media users and within the film industry.
He said, "People who are not creative have the power now to decide things, and this might have been a communal thing also, but not in my face. It comes to me as Chinese whispers that they booked you, but the music company went ahead and hired their five composers. I said, 'Oh, that's great, rest for me, I can chill out with my family?"
Following criticism of his remarks about communal bias, A.R. Rahman released a video message to clarify his stance. He acknowledged that intentions can be misinterpreted and emphasized his consistent goal of using music to inspire, celebrate, and serve. "I feel blessed to be Indian, which enables me to create a space that always allows freedom of expression and celebrates multicultural voices," he added.
