Kapil Sharma’s comedy Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is set for a second theatrical outing after its initial release struggled at the box office. The film arrived in cinemas on December 12 but found itself overshadowed by the strong run of Dhurandhar, which had released a week earlier and dominated screens across the country.
Industry trackers noted that Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 faced limited shows in major multiplex chains, impacting visibility and footfalls. According to trade figures, the film opened at Rs 1.85 crore on its first day and has collected Rs 12.31 crore in India so far, as reported by Sacnilk. The numbers were modest compared to expectations from a popular franchise led by Kapil Sharma.
The makers have now confirmed that the film will return to theatres in January 2026. In an official statement, the team explained the decision behind the re release. “Even with limited screens, Kapil Sharma’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 managed to make audiences laugh, entertain and relive the franchise’s charm with its light hearted comedy and situational humour. Keeping the ongoing excitement of the fans in mind, Producer Mr Ratan Jain has decided to re release the film once again in January 2026,” the statement read. The new release date is expected to be announced soon.
The sequel features Hira Warina, Ayesha Khan, Tridha Choudhury, Manjot Singh and Parul Gulati in key roles. It is backed by producers Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain and the director duo Abbas Mustan. The film follows up on the 2015 hit, which revolved around Kapil Sharma’s character Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan and his complicated marital life with four women.
Trade analysts believe a January window could work in the film’s favour, with fewer big releases lined up and more screen availability. The makers are hopeful that positive word of mouth and Kapil Sharma’s loyal audience base will help the comedy find a wider theatrical reach during its second run.
