Anuja Sathe: My Character In The Series Has Elements Of Vulnerability, Strength, and Power

Popular Television actress Anuja Sathe is popularly known for her role of Dhara in Star Plus drama, Tamanna. For those who do not know, Anuja made her Hindi Television debut with Dhara and later went on to bag the role of Radhabai in Sony TV’s mythological drama, Peshwa Bajirao.

The actress made her digital debut with MX Player’s Ek Thi Begum recently. In an interview with a leading web portal, Anuja went on to speak about her character in the show and depiction of boldness in the revenge drama.

Speaking about her character in the series, Anuja said “My character (Ashraf) has elements of vulnerability, strength, and power. A ticking time bomb. Not having done something like this before, it was fun to get immersed in the character, following the director’s vision. All this required a lot of prep (workshops and reading work) before going on the floor.”

When asked about the bold quotient in Ek Thi Begum? she quips, “There are a few bold scenes, but the script requires them. How else do you show a conservative girl becoming a bar dancer to get her objective? Also, in the dark world of crime, swapping sex for info is a given, right? I am not sure if the same logic applies to some other web products, though.”
