As reported exclusively by India Forums, Zee TV is gearing up to launch an all-new rural-themed reality show titled Goriyan Chali Gaon, and sources close to the development reveal that preparations are in full swing. The show, which will feature urban celebrities adapting to village life, is being positioned as a fresh addition to the channel's non-fiction lineup. Set against the rustic backdrop of Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, the format will see 15 female personalities living without access to modern luxuries and performing daily rural chores.
As per insider information, the contestants will be expected to cook on mud stoves, fetch water from wells, milk cattle, and engage in farming—all while living in traditional village homes. Phones, makeup, staff, and conveniences will be off-limits for the duration of the show, offering an immersive survival-meets-culture experience. The project is being produced by Banijay Asia, the company behind some of India’s biggest reality shows, including Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Now, India Forums brings to you one of the biggest casting coups for the series, television actress Anita Hassanandani has been approached to join the show. As per our sources, the actress has been in talks for the same. However, there is no official confirmation on her participation yet. Our sources suggest that she is in advanced talks with the makers. If finalised, this would mark Anita’s return to unscripted television after her appearances in Nach Baliye and Comedy Circus. Known for her diverse television work across drama and fiction, Anita’s presence would bring star power and relatability to the show.

The final list of contestants is expected to be revealed soon, with shooting reportedly scheduled to begin later this month. If Anita Hassanandani signs on, it will likely boost the show’s profile ahead of its anticipated prime-time premiere.
