Bollywood’s Bachchan family got hit by the novel Coronavirus. Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aradhya have tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday evening.
While Senior and Junior Bachchan are admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital, Aishwarya along with daughter Aradhya will self-quarantine at home. Other members of the family also underwent tests and Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Nanda, Navya Naveli and Agastya Nanda have tested Covid-19 negative but will be quarantined for two weeks.
Big B’s staff also underwent tests for Coronavirus and the reports are out. Reportedly, 26 staff members that worked in close contact with the Bachchan family have tested negative for the novel virus. They will still be quarantined for two weeks.
Meanwhile, the father-son duo showed mild symptoms and are currently admitted. Dr Abdul Samad Ansari, head of critical care at Nanavati, said that their line of treatment was supportive therapy for now. “The senior actor is stable and doing well clinically. His symptoms are mild at this moment. His vitals and appetite are fine. Same is true for Abhishek,” said Dr Ansari.
Big B took to Twitter to thank everyone for their good wishes. “... to them that have expressed their concern, their prayers and their wishes for Abhishek Aishwarya Aaradhya and me .. my unending gratitude and love ..?? I put my hands together and say thank you” the superstar wrote.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared four bungalows of the Bachchan family - Jalsa, Pratiksha, Janak and Vatsa - in Mumbai as containment zones and sealed them.
