When you think of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the name that immediately comes to mind is Amitabh Bachchan. He's been the show's host for years, and has become synonymous with it. In May of this year, fans of Amitabh Bachchan were disappointed by rumors that he would be leaving Kaun Banega Crorepati. There were reports that Salman Khan might replace him as host. However, Amitabh Bachchan has since confirmed that he will continue to be a part of the quiz show.
On Wednesday, Amitabh Bachchan shared on his blog that he's begun preparing for the next season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He posted photos from rehearsals and wrote,“Shuru kardiya kaam".
Amitabh also expressed his happiness about returning to the show, where he helps people improve their lives. “and the prep begins the beguine…to be back to the people..to be with them in their desires to improve life and livings..the opportunity that changes lives .. in an hour..my love and regard."
To kick things off, Sony TV announced Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 with a promo video featuring Amitabh Bachchan on April 4. In the promo, Amitabh, as a patient with a stomachache, hinted at the show's return. He shared that registrations for KBC 17 were open, encouraging fans to register via the Sony LIV app, SMS, or IVR calls. While the premiere date hasn't been announced, KBC 17 is expected to air in August.
Initially, Bollywood Hungama reported in May that Amitabh Bachchan was quitting KBC due to “personal reasons". The portal claimed that Salman Khan was in advanced talks with the makers of KBC and would take over hosting duties from Big B from season 17.
“Get ready to tune into Sony as Salman Khan might host the biggest and most popular quiz show of India as Amitabh Bachchan will be stepping back from KBC due to personal reasons," a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
For those unfamiliar, Amitabh Bachchan has hosted KBC since its beginning in 2000, except for the third season, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
Regarding his professional endeavors, Amitabh Bachchan recently appeared in the successful film 'Kalki: 2898 AD' alongside Prabhas. He also collaborated with Rajinikanth on 'Vettaiyan'. Furthermore, he is gearing up for the release of 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this sci-fi epic features Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan.
