The year 2020 turned to be a disastrous year for many, especially for the Bollywood industry, which saw the loss of many talented artists. Along with the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, the film industry saw many deaths including Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Wajid Khan, Saroj Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput and many more.
Owing to these unfortunate incidents, Bollywood has cancelled on their annual Diwali parties. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Amitabh Bachchan and Ekta Kapoor, who are known to throw one of the most grand Diwali parties have called off the celebrations this year.
Big B shared a very dear bond with late Rishi Kapoor and the duo also featured in many movies together. Bachchan's daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda is married to Nikhil Nanda, Rishi Kapoor's nephew. The Bachchans also faced the loss of Ritu Nanda, Rishi Kapoor's sister this year.
Considering the distress in the family, the Bachchans have decided to not have a Diwali get together this year.
Similarly, Ekta Kapoor, who also considers Rishi Kapoor as her family has scrapped her Diwali bash this year.
