Alia Bhatt’s Jigra struggles to even cross the mark of Rs 35 Crore

Alia Bhatt's 'Jigra' is finding it challenging to surpass the Rs 35 crore mark.

'Jigra,' starring Alia Bhatt, hasn't been faring well at the box office. Many thought that even with its specific target audience, it might pull in the numbers like '12th Fail' or 'Laapataa Ladies.' However, 'Jigra' seems to have a higher budget compared to these films, possibly needing more to become a success in theaters.

On the 18th day, 'Jigra' only earned Rs 25 lakh as per Sacnilk, showing a decrease from the Sunday collection of about Rs 65 lakh. The total earnings of 'Jigra' now stand at Rs 31.25 crore. At this rate, reaching a lifetime total of Rs 35 crore seems challenging for the film. With just two days left before the big Diwali releases take over the box office, 'Jigra' faces tough competition.

'Singham Again' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' are gearing up for a showdown on November 1, and this clash between the two big films could spell trouble for 'Jigra' and Rajkummar Rao's 'Vicky Vidya...,' leading to a diminished presence at the box office.

Despite 'Jigra' not meeting box office predictions in theaters, the movie won't face losses as it has covered costs through digital and satellite rights. Interestingly, the film has seen greater success internationally compared to its domestic performance, benefiting from Alia's star power. Overseas earnings have reached $3 million, approximately Rs 25 crore, as reported by box office India.
