Alia Bhatt reveals why she opted to wear a saree on her wedding day

In the world of Bollywood weddings, opulent lehengas have become the norm for brides. However, Alia Bhatt chose to break away from tradition and donned a beautiful saree for her intimate wedding with Ranbir Kapoor last year. The actress recently revealed her reasoning behind this unconventional choice, highlighting comfort and individuality as her guiding factors.

Alia Bhatt, in an interview with Vogue, shared her perspective on selecting a saree as her bridal attire. She expressed her love for the six yards of elegance and comfort, stating, "I love a saree. It's the most comfortable garment in the world, which is why I wore one for my wedding and not a lehenga."

Her wedding ensemble featured an exquisite ivory saree by renowned designer Sabyasachi, accentuated with intricate golden details. Alia's look exuded grace and simplicity, as she paired the saree with a matching dupatta and heavy kundan jewelry. Her makeup was kept minimal, allowing her natural beauty to shine through.
