For the past few years, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has been on a roll. The actor has been featuring in every commercial movie that can be made under the sun, from mindless action-flicks, women empowerment movies, patriotic films to out-and-out comedy, even though he gets mercilessly trolled for it.

Recently, the 52-year-old actor made headlines when a report from Mid-Day stated that impressed with his antagonistic character in 2.0, a sequel to Rajinikanth’s Robot, Aditya Chopra has decided to rope in Khiladi Kumar as the new villain of the Dhoom franchise.

A close source told the leading daily, "Akshay's larger-than-life villain act in 2.0 [2018] convinced Adi that he would be the perfect fit for the next instalment of Dhoom. The duo has had some meetings, including the first round of narration.

"The role is of a suave underworld don and is much more nuanced than the villains of the previous editions. If all goes well, Akshay and Aditya will make an announcement by the year-end. Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra may not appear in the fourth part while beauty queen Manushi Chillar may play the female lead."

As reported by DNA, Yash Raj Films (the makers of Dhoom) was quick to squash the rumours and immediately issued a clarification stating, “The article “Dhoom to get Khiladi’s touch?” printed in today’s Mid-day is absolutely incorrect and baseless. Dhoom is an extremely important franchise for us but currently, we do not have an idea or script for Dhoom 4. We are always available to clarify any and all queries and strongly urge and request you to kindly double-check stories with us well in advance for us to be able to provide you with all accurate facts.”

Talking about his latest release Housefull 4, the reincarnation comedy is directed by Farhad Samji and produced under the banners of Fox Star Studios and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. It also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Bobby Deol, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde, Chunky Panday, Johny Lever, Sharad Kelkar, Ranjeet, Rana Daggubati and others in pivotal roles.
