The day started with unfortunate news of TV actor Kushal Punjabi’s suicide. Kushal who was struggling with depression chose to end his life by hanging himself at his Mumbai apartment. The actor left a suicide note stating, “No one is responsible for my death.”
While this piece of horrific news has left the whole industry in shock, actor Akshay Kumar has also expressed grief over Kushal’s suicide. During the media interactions of Good Newwz held today in Mumbai, Kumar remarked that he had worked with Kushal before in one of his movies (Andaaz- 2003) and stated, “I don't know why people do such things, there would definitely be some reason behind it.”
On being asked about his views on pressure and dealing with depression, Akshay gave a strong message to be brave and face the problem. “It's a lovely life, a beautiful body you have cultured and your parents have looked after you , so don't just let it go.”
He further added, “Everybody has problems. I know it's easy for me to say but I believe we should fight it out, work on it and not take away your life.”
Akshay also remarked that dealing with depression is a hard thing to do and if he ever gets a chance to make a film on depression, he would love to do a movie on it.
Meanwhile, his latest release Good Newwz hit the theatres today. Directed by Raj Mehta, the comedy entertainer starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani discusses in-vitro fertilization in a humorous tale of comedy and confusion.
