Akshay Kumar breaks silence on 'Hera Pheri 3' row: "It's in the court now"

The trailer for Housefull 5 has sparked conversation, but it isn't the only reason Akshay Kumar is in the headlines. While fans celebrated the return of one of Bollywood’s biggest comedy franchises, questions about Hera Pheri 3 were inevitable. The long-standing uncertainty around the third installment of the cult franchise continues to raise eyebrows, particularly after a string of developments and public back-and-forths.

During a recent press interaction for Housefull 5, Kumar was asked directly about the current status of Hera Pheri 3 and what the future holds for the film. His response, though measured, gave insight into the gravity of the situation.

"I have been working with Paresh Rawal for over 30 years and have done an array of films with him as well. I really admire him and I consider him to be a friend. Whatever has happened and whatever is the issue, this is definitely not the right place and right time to address it. And that's also more so because this is a court matter and whatever happens, this matter of Hera Pheri 3 will be handled in court. But yes, Paresh Rawal is my friend and I admire him a lot," Kumar stated.

While Kumar refrained from disclosing specifics, the mention of legal involvement points toward serious complications. There has been no official explanation of the events that have led to the current impasse, but his remarks indicate that the project is not moving forward smoothly.

The Hera Pheri franchise has always relied on the core chemistry between its leads — especially the trio of Kumar, Rawal, and Suniel Shetty.
