Akshay Kharodia, who rose to fame with his stint as Dev in Star Plus's popular show 'Pandya Store' has recently shared an exciting and unique venture on his social media handles. According to this new venture, Akshay has decided to explore 108 temples across the country, a teaser of which was shared by the actor on his Instagram handle. Well, India Forums got in touch with Akshay and the actor gave us a little insight on this venture, the reason behind it, his experience and a lot more.

Talking about the reason behind this venture Akshay said, ''This is my 'Dharam Yatra,' a teaser of which I dropped on the day of Akshay Tritya. With this venture, I will discover 108 ancient temples across various parts of India. People are unaware of a lot of temples and I want to bring forward these temples in front of everyone. This will also help the tourism of these places. As an actor, I think this is our responsibility. We often get ready for clubbing and think it is very cool. But I think, as an actor, it is our responsibility to make people aware of our spiritual journey too. I want our future generations to know that not just parties, exploring our culture, our traditions and our temples is also cool.''

We further asked Akshay about how did this idea occur to him and the reason behind this venture. To this Akshay said, ''I think this idea too was given to me by God himself. I got into an argument with a friend where in he told me that 'Ram' and 'Krishna' are mythological characters and I argued back saying that there is a difference between mythology and history and that Ram and Krishna are not mythological characters but our history. When he still did not budge, It occurred to me that if our generation has started terming our traditions and culture as 'mythology,' our future generations too will walk on the same path, this is why I decided to dig in deep into our culture and traditions and to prove it to everyone that this is not mythology but our history.''

Talking about the kind of temples he has been exploring, Akshay said, ''I have come to know about temples that are 1000's of years old, temples that existed in the times of lord of Ram, temples that people do not even know of. I have started this journey with Ganpati ji because any new journey starts with him. So I am wanting to start this journey from where I am, and that is Siddhivinayak. However, it can be Siddhivinayak or any other ancient Ganpati temple.''
