On Saturday evening, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan tested positive for COVID-19. The father-son duo has been admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati hospital.
Meanwhile the rest of the family including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan and others underwent tests. And previously, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar stated that Aishwarya and Jaya Bachchan had tested negative for the novel virus. This was indeed a sign of relief for all fans.
However, as per the latest reports, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aradhya have tested positive for Coronavirus in their second test. Jaya Bachchan has tested negative in the antigen test.
The Minister of Public Health confirmed the same through a tweet. Mr. Rajesh Tope tweeted:
"Smt.Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Daughter Aaradhya Abhishek Bacchan have also been detected positive for Covid 19.
Smt. Jaya Bachchan ji is tested negative for covid 19. We wish the Bacchan Family to get well soon with a speedy recovery."
The tweet was deleted shortly.
Meanwhile, the BMC has sealed the Bachchan mansion Jalsa, and sanitised the entire building.
Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan showed mild symptoms and have tested positive in the second test as well.
Abhishek had taken to Twitter to inform his fans:
"Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you."
The Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital said Amitabh Bachchan is in stable condition now.
"Today would be 5th day since Amitabh ji's symptoms had surfaced... have to watch closely for another seven days and see how the disease evolves...in the next 3 days, we will be able to see the evolution trajectory... very likely that he may remain to have a very mild version," said Dr Abdul Samad Ansari, head of the hospital's critical care unit.
