After Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez in the running for the role of PT Usha

Biopics have been the most recent trend in Bollywood. With hits like Sanju, Dangal, M.S.Dhoni-The Untold Story, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom and more, biopics have emerged to be successful at the box office. Also interesting to notice is that there have been many movies made on the lives of several sportsmen. One new addition to the lot of biopic movies is the PT Usha biopic, revolving around the life of the ace Indian athlete.

For the same, actress Katrina Kaif was in talks about the role of PT Usha. Her latest flick Bharat is a massive blockbuster and she will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi opposite Akshay Kumar. However as per a report in Pinkvilla, when asked about her role in the biopic, she replied, "Yes, we are still discussing it. There's nothing concrete and I wouldn't like to say anything more than that."

Meanwhile a source from the entertainment website also informed that not just Katrina, but also Jacqueline Fernandez has been approached for the role. "Jacqueline Fernandez too has been offered the part. Jacqueline, who was taking a small acting course, is back to the city and recently met the biopic's director to discuss the film. She had been approached for the project a few months ago." 

Apart from the two actresses, there are speculations that the hit Telugu actioner Pokiri will be backing the biopic. 

The source also stated that Jacqueline is open to different characters in her movies stating, "Although initially she was skeptical of leading a complete film, Jacqueline wants to experiment with her characters now. She has not only been approached for the PT Usha biopic, but is also in talks for the remake of Arth. In all probabilities, she will play Smita Patil's role from the original."

Apart from that, the Kick actress is currently shooting for her digital debut, Shirish Kunder's Mrs Serial Killer, which is yet another hard hitting gritty thriller.
