Depression is something millions of people across the world struggle with on a daily basis. From a mango person, to a Bollywood personality to a television star, everyone has had a past which has taken them down the drain. Today we speak to our Telly stars, who talk about their depressed moment and what do they do to combat it.

Sukirti Kandpal who is currently seen in & TV's Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls

I have never encountered depression as I am very happy-go-lucky in nature.  However, I do face anxiety at times but I overcome it by chanting. It is some kind of a meditation I do when I tend to work to much or have a sleepless night.

Avinash Sachdev, currently seen in Star Plus'  Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon...Ek Baar Phir:

There are a lot of spa lounges these days and that itself proves that people are going through a lot of stress be it on the personal or professional front. I have not been under depression but if I would be I would opt to switch of my phone and take a two day holiday. Also, I make sure I workout daily and indulge in some sport to refresh my mind.

Manish Raisinghani, currently seen in ColorsSasural Simar Ka:

I am have been lucky and have never faced depression but I have seen a lot of people who have gone through this phase. I believe the primary cause of depression is irregular lifestyle. Unfortunately childhood too plays a very important role where people suffer mentally and emotionally. It may sound weird but I feel having a bend towards spirituality helps one gain some sanity in life.

Sana Khan, previously seen in Star Plus' Arjun:

Yes, I have been into depression when I participated in the Miss India pageant. I was in the top five and I lost the crown. I was extremely heartbroken. But my family and close friends stood by me and now whenever I feel low, all I make sure is to have the right kind of company around me.

Everyone goes through a rough patch in life and so did I but it was in my school days. What i have learnt is come what may, i will  keep myself happy.

Shrenu Parikh now seen in Star Plus' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon...Ek Baar Phir:

I have not been in depression but I keep feeling low every now and then. I am a pharmacy student and we have been taught how to overcome stages of stress and anxiety without eating medicines. I would suggest people to keep themselves distracted by listening to music, reading a book or watching television and not focus on the problem. I meditate when i feel low.
