"I enjoy writing, in fact I love writing. While I am busy with my Marathi show, I am also writing a screenplay for a Bollywood movie and one for a Marathi movie. I am not much keen on writing for television shows. It takes a lot of time. For me, my first priority will always be my family. I can be a creative writer but nothing more than that."
Further she adds, "I am not exactly interested in becoming an author and write specifically for a novel. I want my work to translate into a movie. Films or advertisements or short films, all of these depend on the subject that you take up and decide to write on it. It is the subject only that determines what can be made out of it. But yes, I believe in never say never (laughs). I do not know what's going to happen in future."
She believes, it is the amalgamation of your experience and point of view that helps us translate our work into screens. "I have not restricted myself to a particular genre or subject. I am open to all kind of genres. I strongly feel if the characters are strong, it will immediately strike a perfect chord with the audience. Furthermore, one should take proper time to write the story instead of large expenses on the making of sets. For me, script is the king."
Her love for writing has added another feather to the cap. Renuka speaks about two of her screenplays which she is currently writing:
"The screenplay which I am writing for a Bollywood movie has intense drama to it. It is a woman centric movie. It has three strong female characters which form the basis of the movie. It has very little light hearted drama to it. It is more of an intimate, human and sophisticated sort of movie. I do not know what it will turn out to be. But I am hoping people would love to watch it.
The one which I am writing for regional Marathi cinema is a black comedy. It has so many errors to it. It has errors in error to it (laughs aloud)."
TellyBuzz wishes all the luck to this soon to be screenplay writer!
