Actor Rajeev Paul has been on the tube for a while now and further been a part of an array of TV shows and reality shows. But only recently, we went on to witness a new side of the actor where he started sharing poems written by him. And now, more facets of the actor are being known how Paul, apart from poems, also pens songs on love, life and everything in between.
Talking about it in an interview with Bombay Times, Paul said, ""My songs are basically my poetry, being put to music. Am fortunate that my book has plenty of poetry which are worthy of that. All songs are essentially poetry set to music. My songs are not just about heartbreak .but also about the world around us. The situations of life. A poet is someone who feels a lil more than others and puts universal feelings in few words. Those words get fueled by the readers personal experiences in life, their own heartbreaks, sadness, tajurba all is resonated by that poetry ..only then people are able to relate to a particular song as it evokes memories. Sad or happy that depends on the person who's reading it."
He added, "It was always my mother (who has inspired me with this). I saw her writing poems as a child and it amazed me that someone could magically create poetry and stories out of the blue. I thought my mother was a magician or Goddess Saraswati who could write and articulate her feelings in beautiful words. I would read and be amazed and perhaps imbibed that quality from her."
He concluded saying, "This January 31, I complete eight years of my book 'Mumbai, Mohabbat Aur Tanhai'. It was released in 2012 by Juhi Chawla and Farhan Akhtar then. So I have been writing continually over the years and plan to put it out there as people always ask me about my next book. But, before I do that, I also want to put my songs out there as a music video because more than reading people prefer to hear poetry and hence, I keep posting every now and then on my social media handles."
