Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Gulab Jamun delayed?

Here's what we know so far..

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, confirmed in August that they are all set to reunite on the silver screen with Sarvesh Mewara's Gulab Jamun. While the audience was excited to see the real-life couple carve their magic after a hiatus of 8 years, we now hear that the film has hit a roadblock after Phantom Films' dissolution.

For the unversed, the founders of the production house - Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl - recently decided to part ways after a former woman employee accused Vikas of sexual harassment. Considering the uncertain future of Phantom Films', the slice-of-life film has now been put on hold indefinitely.

A source revealed about the development to Mid-Day, "The pre-production work on the film had started and Sarvesh was scouting for locations. The announcement of Phantom Films' dissolution took everyone by surprise, and has left the Gulab Jamun team in the lurch. Sarvesh has already been advised to approach other production houses."

Well, what fate does the Abhishek and Aishwarya starrer has to face ahead, is still left to be seen.

Meanwhile, Phantom Films' also has Ranveer Singh's '83 and Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Womaniya in the pipeline. While Vikas has been shunned away from Kabir Khan's '83 and no credit will be given to him, Anurag has reportedly begun work on Womaniya.
