Aanchal Khurana: I Won 'Mujhse Shaadi Karoge' Because I Was Being Real!

Aanchal Khurana who started off her career with MTV reality show, Roadies 8 was recently seen in Colors TV show Mujhse Shaadi Karoge. Aanchal who entered the show as a wildcard entrant, in a short span of time, managed to impress the viewers and Paras by winning the show. 

In an exclusive conversation, Aanchal spoke to us about her experience in the show, her equation with Paras, Ankita and Balraaj’s bond and much more…

How was your experience in the show?

My experience was very short and everybody knows I am from the Roadies background. I can’t do this saas-bahu drama. I speak what I see and I say the truth. 

You entered as a wildcard and still won the show, so despite your short journey you managed to make a connection with Paras. What’s your take on that?

I didn’t put in an effort to make a connection with Paras in a short time because I knew that it’s been only 10 days and I was not aware that the show is going to end. So in the first ten days, I was just being me and I was just talking to him as a friend. I think that’s the only reason that he chose me.

Now that you mentioned that you weren’t faking anything, whom, amongst the rest of the contestants you feel was faking a lot in the show?’

I don’t know, you should ask Paras. I have spoken with everybody in bits and pieces, I used to be in the gym. I wasn't going everywhere behind Paras, taking tea for him, or trying to talk to him. I didn’t do anything like that, I was just myself in the show. I do all that but for my boyfriend or partner. So I think that’s the thing that he found right about me.

Do you think that because you were a part of a reality show before, it helped you to stay real?

I think apart from our daily soaps, we all should always stay real. We get so worried that we need the following.  Shehbaaz is also a very funny and very nice guy but wherever I didn’t feel that their point was right or even Ankita’s, I stood by my words. If I wanted I could have sugar-coated everything and would have come back from the show with 100k followers but I was just being real and that is the only reason that I won the show.

You came up as a really strong personality and you also had some fights initially, what about that?

That’s because I took a stand. At the start, Ankita and Balraj said that they are like sister-brother, and after ten days, she is sitting with Balraj, holding hands, asking him to kiss her on the cheek. That’s her personal choice, that she maybe didn’t like Paras and liked Balraj. I didn’t feel it was real, I wouldn't do that. 

 What do you think of Ankita and Balraj’s bond?

When I went in, I heard that Balraj has a relationship outside. I don’t know the name of the girl. So everyone here is lying and the person who's saying the truth (me) is being bashed.

Shehnaz walked out of the show because she couldn’t connect with any of the guys. Do you think it was the right move?

It was a very good move but she should have taken that move initially only or shouldn’t have taken the show altogether. But I am very glad that she did not choose anybody.

 Lastly, what’s your equation with Paras right now, outside the show?

We’re friends. We are not dating at all.
