Aamir Khan on Kareena's role in Laal Singh Chaddha: Her character is the one that has been altered the most

It has almost been 4 years since Aamir Khan appeared on the big screens and now finally he is all set to blow away the audience with his much-awaited film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is a Hindi adaptation of the cult Hollywood film Forrest Gump which starred the legendary Tom Hanks. 

As the film is inching closer to its release date, Aamir Khan addressed the media and talked extensively about the film, how it is different from the original one and how did the cast members prepare for their respective roles.

India Forums asked Aamir, "As Laal Singh Chaddha is an official remake and is touted to be a 'light-hearted' film, it is actually pretty intense. Especially Kareena Kapoor's character in the original was dark, complex and very difficult. So, how much has that changed and altered in this version as we are catering to Indian sensibilities and have a star like Kareena playing the role?

Remarking about it Khan stated,

 "So, I wont say that Laal Singh Chaddha is a light hearted film from any angle. It has a lot of humour. It also a lot of piognant momnets emotionally. Kareena's character is the one that has been altered the most, amongst the characters from the original because we don't have that cultural references of hippies and drugs. Us type ka tha nahi kabhi humare environment main so we have altered her appropriately what is relevant in our society and that you will get to know when you watch the film."

The film is directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay written by Eric Roth and adapted by Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios The film stars Khan as the titular character along with Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh.
