Maverick Productions, the production house of Anuj Saxena, after many ventures have now launched their first weekly comedy show "Gupshup Coffee Shop" on Sab TV starring Sudhir Pandey, Navniit Nisshan and Eva Grover.
Gupshup Coffee Shop is a humourous drama based on the day to day life
of a family. The story shows how the ladies of the house, because of
their spendthrift nature have reduced the head of the family to a
crorepati from a trillionaire, and now are trying their hands in
earning money from the shop 'Gupshup Coffee Shop'. The serial is being
directed by none other than Anant Mahadevan, who has been a part of many path breaking serials in the past. He has already directed many films. We asked Anant Mahadevan about the venture. "I
have been associated with some of the best sitcoms on television. And
this project, is a classic sitcom and I haven't had one for quite
sometime. For me it was like returning to a fold of which I was a part
of at one time. It is more like a home coming" He is also
associated with three film projects besides this serial, though they
are still at their initial stage of script writing. Gupshup Coffee Shop airs on SAB entertainment channel every Thursday. The sitcom will be of 26 episodes and has some of the leading artists of Indian Television like Sudhir Pandey and Navniit Nisshan, who also have had a long experience in television."They are the veterans of comedy in Indian TV, so definitely I am looking forward working with them", commented Anant Mahadevan. Keeping in view today's trend of Saas Bahu Serials, this sitcom promises to be a refreshing change for the viewers.
