verdicts at the box office. Films such as
Bodyguard, Ready, Ra.One, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Murder 2, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Singham, Tanu Weds Manu, The Dirty Picture and
Don 2 set cash registers ringing, breaking records and setting the bar even higher while others fell
short of the audience's expectations. Nonetheless, what can we expect from tinsel
town in the upcoming year? Well, let us step foot into the enchanted world of
Bollywood cinema to see what is in store for 2012!

The new year starts with an action thriller,

official remake of American flick

It's My Life
It's My Life is a
remake of
Bommarillu, a successful
Telegu venture. The film has previously been scheduled to release nearly two to three years ago but was severely delayed due
to multiple complications. It will finally be hitting the big screen on January
13th, 2012. The film takes its audience through
a self-realization journey whereby Rohit (
Harman Baweja) gets engaged to Natalie
(Genelia D'Souza) as per his strict father's wishes. Decisively, Rohit decides
to take a stand for his desires.

Shanghai
deals with politicians and their greed. Along with audiences, critics too are eagerly awaiting the release of this ambitious venture. Pitted against
Agneepath, this political thriller will also be releasing on Republic Day; an exceptional date
indeed we must say!
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu
Imran Khan and
Kareena Kapoor team up for the first time in Dharma Productions'
Ek Main Aur Ekk
Tu. This rom-com is set to release
on February 10th, 2012, particularly aiming for Valentine's Day collections.
According to rumors, the film mirrors Hollywood venture
What Happens in Vegas (2008). However
Karan Johar dismissed all rumors stating he would have officially bought the rights if he wanted to do a remake. Box office hit or box office dud, only time will
tell!
Agent Vinod
Within a week, we see
Kareena Kapoor's second release for the
year, co-starring with beau Pataudi
Saif Ali Khan in
Agent
Vinod. Produced by Illuminati Films and Eros Entertainment, this action
thriller showcases the realistic journey of a spy. However, it is not a remake of the 1977
Agent Vinod. Will this thriller prove to be a thriller at the box office? Find out on February 17th,

and south, the complete opposite. Due to certain circumstances, Viren kidnaps
Mini and therein the story takes a turn when Viren starts to realize he is actually

Balaji Motion Pictures and iRock Films come together for a
romantic comedy, starring
Abhay Deol and Genelia D' Souza. The film is said to be
based on zombies and will see an appearance from
Abhay Deol's beau Preeti
Desai. Much has not been released about
the film, including its release date. However, speculations say that the
venture is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in May 2012.
