Star Plus, as a channel wasn't the same anymore, when Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi went on-air and the next thing we know, it has been christened as a cult show on Indian television. The show that marked the arrival of Ekta Kapoor in the real sense, sans the success of Hum Paanch. The show was a mega success and also holds some rating records that haven't been broken until now.

Not only that, but the show also made actors Smriti Irani, Amar Upadhyay, Ronit Roy, Hiten Tejwani, Sumeet Sachdev among others household names.

And as today marks 18 years that the show aired it's 1st episode, show maker Ekta Kapoor, along with actors Smriti Irani and Hiten Tejwani, posted messages and thanked the fans for their unconditional support.
